Art History Essay. British Pop Art – please help?!?
I have a 2,000 word essay to write and this is the question:
How significant was British Pop Art. What were its main achievements. Evaluate the work of at least 4 artists.
I think I’m going to write about this essay from a sociological point of view.
I have chosen Richard Hamilton, David Hockney, Allen Jones and Peter Blake as the artists I want to evaluate.
I have a vague idea but just wanted some pointers if possible.
Thank you in advance for any helpful answers/websites/pointers!
=)
There are lot of sites on Google if you type in Pop art, there are also a lot of good past answers on here if you search.
Good luck.

There are some clear parallels between Groban’s debut and this Frangoulis release, but some distinctive differences as well. While Groban coa… |

The anonymity of mass-produced, cheap comics helped him capture specific impressions of real life, while maintaining the necessary degree of aesthetic distance afforded by what he understood to be the “high restrictiv… |

Richard Hamilton: Modern Moral Matters $26.51 With his memorably titled 1956 collage “Just What is it that Makes Today’s Homes So Different, So Appealing?”, British artist Richard Hamilton (born 1922) heralded the British Pop revolution; and with his 1967 Swingeing London series of prints, which depicted the arrest of Mick Jagger and Robert Fraser, Hamilton’s art entered the general public consciousness. But unlike so many Pop artists, Hamilt… |
