Abstract Art Wine Bottles
GCSE Art Canvas Ideas. Any Inspiration?
hey we are doing a theme on Celebrations. The teacher has let us expand the idea slightly and go off on different tangents. I decided to go off on the theme of when parties and such go wrong and then i found this artist that paints abstract wine bottles and glasses. I was wondering if wether to stay on parties and broken glasses and drunk people or to use this artist as inspiration? Any other ideas that are pretty close to this topic please let me know!

I like that idea actually, its really good – maybe expand on that and do something edgy relating to drug and alcohol culture, you could do stuff on hypodermic needles, broken bottles and glasses etc, – drunk people (even vomit and blood? Gross I know but it takes all sorts these days, look at Damien Hirst, if you can pickle a sheep and call it art than you can make puke artistic too I’m sure) … scattered condoms, pregnancy. You could do some sort of contrast maybe between the glamorous facade (beautiful girls, gorgeous guys) and the dark underbelly, the reality. Start off maybe doing a collage featuring those kind of things (broken glass and stuff) to show and link together all your ideas – you can branch off from that. Make it look dirty and gross. Then you can do another with the ‘appealing’ side, the one that draws people in. Sorry this was just a major messy brainstorm but I hope I’ve given you some ideas.
